#TotalMommyMakeover Round 1, Week 3
I’d Rather Modify Than Quit.
It’s time for me to admit something rather painful: I’m not as young as I used to be. Actually, I am not so much bothered by my age. I know I don’t look 40 and I know I certainly don’t FEEL ‘old’. It’s my body that concerns me. I haven’t taken care of it like I should have and now I’m *choke* modifying exercises.
Although really, is there any shame in that?
Heck no! There is absolutely not one iota of shame in starting where you are at and working toward being a better you. I’ve become rather fond of Kat. She is a strong woman who put herself out there – like all the rest of the fitness pros – because she IS a fitness pro.
Do you think you have to have a 10 body to be fit? N. O. but then again, what is a 10 body anyway? A size 10? A specific shape? What I learned from this: health comes in all shapes and sizes.

Total Body Cardio Fix
Got this in during our Miracle Morning and totes crushed it. We were shocked we did so well and fist bumped in celebration. We finally started our 21 Day Fix meal plan today and we totally crushed it. It was wild to see how the three of us took up one entire notebook page once I wrote down what each of us had. I think Skylar was the only semi-fail. She didn’t eat her carrots, broccoli, and mushrooms (green container).
Speaking of Skylar, ya’ll, I really don’t understand how I’m supposed to get a 4-year old to eat 1,200-1,400 calories a day. My daughter is supposed to eat as much as I do? 😳
The 21 Day Fix containers and the vegan diet outline make it easier but yikes.

Once again, we got our workout in during our Miracle Morning and we’re stoked about being more on track than last week. We struggled a bit because of soreness but otherwise, all went well!
We forgot to write down what we ate today so our notebook entry is pretty sparse. 😧

CJ and I alternated workout times today. It seems there’s not enough space for us to workout together. He’s a lot sorer than I am but it’s mostly in his legs. On another note, I can’t believe I gained 6 pounds! The nurse, doctor, and I were all like, what?! The nurse said it could be due to my anxiety and depression medication but 6 pounds, really? I am attributing it to eating more. A lot more. I don’t think I’ve eaten as much as I do on the 21 Day Fix vegan diet. Which sounds weird considering how much weight I packed on but I think I was in that hibernation mode where the body thinks it needs to conserve or something. Honestly, I don’t know. We’ll see what happens in the coming week(s).
After that surprising routine doctor visit, I decided to get more serious about keeping a food diary. I actually got all Excel spreadsheet about it and plan to print them out on a weekly basis. I’ll add the printout to our Beachbody folder. Well, it’s actually a magazine holder now. 🤣

Owww. This one is usually my favorite but a childhood injury has come back to haunt me. I fell off the side of a deck and landed hard on my booty bone. All the half-reclining is just killing it. I am breathing harder through the pain and trying to figure out a mod that will still get me the same results. CJ was a little stiff today but he worked through it.
We’re still on track, 21 Day Fix vegan meal plan-wise but we’re only about halfway through the containers. Getting our protein and purples in has been super easy since we started using the vanilla Shakeology to make smoothies. The blues, yellows, and oranges are also easy and delicious to get in. It’s the greens we’re struggling with. I’m alternating between homemade refried beans or sauteed chickpeas with EVOO, mushrooms, spinach, and onions but there are only so many times you can have it before you just say ENOUGH.
Note to Self: Look up more green recipes.
